The Gilded Treasure Casket — deep-carved scrollwork over a chest built to actually hold something.

A three-part box: a tall, deep-carved body wrapped in baroque scrollwork cartouches, a fully sculpted lift-off lid that carries the same ornament rather than going plain, and a separate inner tray that sits inside the body, dividing the space rather than leaving it open. It is chunkier and deeper than our other caskets, closer in proportion to a treasure chest than a jewellery box.

Both the main cavity and the drawer are hand-lined in deep red velvet, cut and fitted here in the workshop after printing. The lining is what makes it a jewellery box rather than a printed container - rings and chains sit on fabric rather than plastic, and nothing gets scratched by a layer line.

3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the matte surface keeps every cartouche and scroll sharply defined. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.

Designed for dressing tables, altar shelves and bedside tops, for anyone who wants somewhere to actually sort rings from chains rather than tip everything into one open box.

Please note

The lid is a lift-off plate rather than a hinged one, so it comes away completely when you open the box. There is no catch and no lock. The inner tray sits loose rather than fixed in place, and neither the tray nor the body is lined — if you are keeping anything with a soft finish inside, a scrap of felt in the base is worth adding.

Finish options

• Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte-black PLA that holds shadow and shows every carved cartouche, raised detail and recess.

• Antique Silver — hand-painted over a matte-black base and carefully drybrushed so the raised detail lifts into silver while the recesses stay dark. Each one is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

• Antique Bronze — the same hand-painted treatment in a warmer metal, for rooms where black reads too cold. Finished individually, so small variations are part of its character.

• Other (message me) — the same hand-painted finish in colours of your choosing, for the same price. Send us a message before you order and tell us what you have in mind, and we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays.

Pieces in matte black normally go out within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative item for indoor use only.

• Lift the lid by its edges rather than by the carved scrollwork. Handle the cartouche detail with care.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Minor layer lines and small variations in the printed or hand-painted finish are normal and form part of the piece's character.
