The Vesper Reliquary — a low, wide casket that sits like it was built for an altar rather than a dressing table.

Three parts stack into one piece: a deep, laurel-swagged plinth on four scrolled paw feet, a box body wrapped in floral rosette and scrollwork panels, and a flat, unadorned lid that settles on top. Nothing about the lid competes with what's underneath, the plinth and body carry all the ornament, and the top is left plain so the eye has somewhere to rest.

The drawer are hand-lined in faux red velvet, cut and fitted here in the workshop after printing. The lining is what makes it a jewellery box rather than a printed container, rings and chains sit on fabric rather than plastic, and nothing gets scratched by a layer line.

It reads as formal rather than fey: broad and low rather than tall, with the kind of symmetrical baroque detailing you would expect on a reliquary casket kept behind glass. 3D printed in PLA in our Dublin workshop, the matte surface holds the laurel work and rosette carving in sharp relief. Fine layer lines may remain visible as part of the 3D-printing process.

Designed for dressing tables, altar shelves and bedside tops, and for anyone who wants their trinket box to look like it belongs in a reliquary rather than a jewellery shop window.

Please note

The lid is a lift-off plate rather than a hinged one, so it comes away completely when you open the box. There is no catch and no lock. It is not lined — if you are keeping anything with a soft finish inside, a scrap of felt or fabric in the base is worth adding.

Finish options

• Matte Black — our standard finish. Deep matte-black PLA that holds shadow and shows every sculpted edge, raised detail and recess.

• Antique Silver — hand-painted over a matte-black base and carefully drybrushed so the raised detail lifts into silver while the recesses stay dark. Each one is finished individually, so no two are ever quite the same.

• Antique Bronze — the same hand-painted treatment in a warmer metal, for rooms where black reads too cold. Finished individually, so small variations are part of its character.

• Other (message me) — the same hand-painted finish in colours of your choosing, for the same price. Send us a message before you order and tell us what you have in mind, and we will say honestly whether we can do it justice.

Printed, finished and packed by the two of us in Dublin, and posted from Ireland — so EU orders arrive without customs charges or import delays.

Pieces in matte black normally go out within 1–3 working days. Hand-painted finishes take 3–5 working days, because the paint needs time to dry properly between coats.

Product safety

• Decorative item for indoor use only.

• Lift the lid and the body by their edges rather than by the raised scrollwork. Handle the rosette panels and paw feet with care.

• Not a toy. Keep away from young children.

• Keep away from excessive heat, open flames and prolonged direct sunlight — PLA can soften at high temperatures.

• Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and solvents, especially on a hand-painted finish.

• Materials: PLA. Hand-painted finishes also use acrylic paint and matt varnish.

• Minor layer lines and small variations in the printed or hand-painted finish are normal and form part of the piece's character.
